The label reads, "CARTER'S IMPROVED Apple Parer, Corer and Slicer MANUFACTURED ONLY FOR NOURSE, MASON & CO OF BOSTON AND WORCESTER, MASS. DIRECTIONS FOR USING. After the apple is placed on the fork, press it toward the knife, turning the crank at the same time; when it is pressed through the Disc, draw the fork back, remove the core with the hand, and the work is accomplished. After use, the machine should be cleansed.
