Triumph Lathe Parer

Triumph

Penn Hardware Company modified the frame to improve the latch mechanism and add a push-off. To start one pulls back the threaded-shaft. When the push-off is also pushed back the locking mechanism is activated. The crank can now be turned and advanced towards the paring arm and slicing blade. As the crank is turned it forces the push-off forward. When the apple is pared and sliced the push-off has been advanced as far as it will go and the locking mechanism slides down. This action simultaneously locks the push-off and unlocks the threaded-shaft. The theaded-shaft is pulled back and the apple is pushed off the fork. The end of the fork pushes the locking mechanism up, which again locks the threaded-shaft and unlocks the push-off. Once the push-off is placed back into position another apple can be pared. This parer is marked TRIUMPH PAT. APRIL 4, 1882.
