Metal Peg Table-Mounted Apple Parer

Primitive gears composed of wooden discs fitted with metal pegs provide a speed advantage on this apple parer. With each turn of the drive gear the fork gear makes 2.4 turns. The fork shaft is fitted with bone and brass.
As the parer rotates the operator uses a hand-guided paring knife to remove the peel.
