Wiggin with Post

The Wiggin has a long distinctive handle. C. Albert Wiggin's design is a quick return. All of the gearing on the returntable is on the underside to prevent clogging. One turn of the hand-driven gear pares the apple and snaps the returntable back to starting position. This parer is marked WIGGIN PAT. AUG 4, 1868. A second version of this parer was made without the post and spring for the paring arm (the second version is pictured on the Apples page and can be seen paring an apple in the Video section).
