Whittemore Lathe Parer with Chipper
Back to Videos

D. H. Whittemore made several lathe parers with chipper attachments. The chipper slices the apple into semicircles ready to be dried or used in pies. The above video is provided courtesy of Jared Silbersher. This Whittemore lathe is marked with patent dates of April 6, 1880 and May 3, 1881.

A similar parer shown below was advertised as Whittemore's Little Favorite and is marked PAT EXTD. JAN. 12, 1871. While paring the apple a chipper slices pie-sized pieces.
